Only warrantied for one year. I guess the manufacturer has little confidence in this holding up over the long term. My last Renogy supplied unit (not this one, but same Chicom style, delivered with a Renogy solar set) lasted 5 years before blowing an electrolytic.
Nice unit though, solidly built, and easy to wire your own remote if you just want on/off and don’t need remote indicator LEDs. Just connect the lines to your switch to the center two pin on the RJ45 jack.

So many Inverters out there and I’ve bought the junky ones as well. I blew of 2 other ones already so I tried this one.
I believe for the price this one offers some quality parts for the price.
I use it in the RV, runs hair dryer(1875watt) microwave and anything for 110v plug.
I tried running my ac which will run on 110v however the surge kicks out the inverter. It wasn’t a deal breaker and Ive had 6000watt Inverters(CLAIMED) that wouldnt run it either. I guess a home breaker must allow quite a lot of surge power since it will run on a home 15 amp.. But haven’t found any inverters that will run it.
Its quiet and has long remote cord,
It also trips and easily resets. < cheap ones just fry,,,
It’s nice to have our RV have everything without a generator. Just solar, never need to plug in unless you need AC
Hope it lasts!! But I think for the price its the best one on AMAZON right now.

Product has a manufacturing defect. The whole box is torqued. Had a professional electrician hook up. Ground faults consistently. Tech support is awful. You wait literally an hour or more on hold, never get through as the number of people on hold never drops below 25. Website says email a callback request. You email and they respond – 3 days later – telling you to call in. I’m returning this unit and replacing for an alternate brand.

Wanted an inverter for a/c refrigerator in my motorhome. Wanted one with low idle current draw and without a display or GFCI. This one fit the bill, was competitively priced and I’ve used Renogy solar gear before, so went with my experience. Wrong. This inverter bricked as soon as I applied 12v to it. It was grounded and power switch off per instructions. Dead, no lights, no output, nothing. Low quality capacitors no doubt. Had a cheap Harbor Freight inverter do the same thing after a few months. Looks like the Chinese have figured out how to make things quit working instantly now. Amazon Prime won’t take it back…forcing me to go thru Renogy. B.S. I’m about fed up with the decline in Amazon customer service and lame product assurances.

This product worked fine for a couple months, then stopped working and started sounding an alarm. My voltage is fine, and my wires and fuses are sized properly. I have contacted Renogy for support and explained the problem in great detail. They replied back to me asking me for some details that were perfectly laid out in my original email. Each time I would answer and email or run a test that they wanted me to try, it would be a new person emailing me back and I can’t even begin to say how many times I answered the same question that someone else had already asked. It has now been four days in a row where I have not heard back from Renogy. They are a garbage company with garbage customer service and garbage products. I would highly suggest you go elsewhere for your solar and electrical needs.
I also had the exact same customer service problem with the MPPT controller I ordered from them.

Got it and hooked it up. Felt fairly heavy and well built. Hooked it up and plugged it in according to manufacturer specs, heard a buzz and then a pop and then the fault light came on. I have had another inverter of lesser wattege plugged into the exact same spot using the exact same cables without issue. Contacted support via email, no response yet at the time of this writing. I contacted Renogy customer service via the phone and was told that I had Renogy USA instead of Renogy Canada and they wouldn’t help me at all, Renogy Canada apparently only responds (or didn’t in my case) to email. I returned the inverter, which is too bad because all of the other compnents of my solar setup are made by Renogy. Hopefully you guys don’t have to deal with their customer service, they seem to be non existent.

A Solid inverter – with a sine-wave that’s 90% true.
Frequency only 1hz off however that could be my meter.
Does a solid 700 no sweat, solid construction, and only 0.5 Amps with no load (measured)
However had very light flicker issues with lights opened the BOX and re-seated everything and now shes good.
Down side no display so you have no idea of the draw, wattage needed to set up 3rd part meter.
Remote switch works well. -Avoid if you are not electronic savvy as I believe this company give very bad support.

This item looks great. The casing is very attractive. Unfortunately, it was dead on arrival. Returned for a refund.

This is not the same inverter as advertised. It works but it is the cheaper model that Renogy sells for $299. I do not have any issue with how it works. I do not appreciate the unit being misrepresented. This inverter does not have power saving mode. I bought it in October from Amazon for $399 because of the power saving mode. At that time there was also a model listed for $299 but now I can’t find it. I turns out that the $299 model is the one I received. That is what you will get if you order this one. Don’t buy it here when you can get it almost half price elsewhere. Not sure why they are charging more now.

I was really surprised, but when I tried to test it – it started to rebooting every few seconds.
Support was awful. Just returned it on the next day.

Power goes out often enough up here in Iqaluit, so I got this inverter to run the Toyostove heater in my house and a couple lights. I connected it to my car battery, and learned very quickly that I needed some longer 4 gauge cables so that I can keep the inverter in my porch, or in the front seat of the car. Power normally goes out during blizzards or super cold spells (-35 Celsius or colder, before windchill), so I wanted to keep the inverter out of the elements. I got 15 feet of cable from Amazon, and it’s even better wire than the dinky 4 footer that came with this inverter. The cables that come with the inverter are sheathed in cheap plastic and hate bending in the cold. So spend the extra 60 bucks and buy better, longer cables.
Sure you can run some lights and stuff off a modified sine wave inverter, but this inverter isn’t that expensive, and lets my sensitive electronics run beautifully. I think this whole solution is pretty elegant compared to a generator- I use my car as a generator. I know it’s full of gas, and that it runs!

I bought this Renogy inverter specifically to work with my ebike battery charger for off grid ebiking. The inverter is connected to my truck camper battery. Right from day one, the AC output voltage from the inverter surged causing the battery charger to surge (not work properly). The ebike battery charger works perfectly well on AC household current. I have been communicating with Renogy ‘Customer Service’ for 4 weeks now. I started out with Amazon customer service and because I didn’t install the inverter and find this fault on the new inverter within their 30 day “return window” I was out of luck with them, no exceptions! It has been an ongoing battle to get this inverter sent back to Renogy for repair/replacement. Some ‘Customer Service’ Amazon and Renogy! Not a great way to get return customers in the retail business.

This is NOT the Renogy model with power save mode. The model with power save is over $700. Amazon has made a big error in the product description. If you search the Renogy website you will discover the error. DO NOT BUY THIS ONE IF YOU NEEDED POWER SAVE MODE!
