Purchased 4 x 100w Dokio panels but they do not appear to be putting out any where near the advertised 100w output per panel. Will further troubleshoot but not impressed.
Poor quality, no where near 100w output

I’m using the solar panel to charge a battery in my car so I don’t run the car battery flat when using my laptop. The quality looks good and I have it mounted on the roof of my car. But I don’t have the whole system connected together yet. The only downside was that the packaging was really poor. However, the panel survived unscathed.

We purchased two Dokio 100W flexible solar panels a year ago and at about month 11 we noticed a blemish on one of the panels. I checked the power out of the panels and found that the output was below spec. I contacted Dokio via their web site and sent them my measurements. When new panels were available they shipped us two new ones under warranty. The new panels are putting out twice as much power as the defective panels. I rarely receive this kind of support for a product and this from a company in China. Thank you Dokio for standing behind your product.
(1/6/19) We installed the original panels flat on the roof of our Aliner trailer using RTV Silicone adhesive. This is a commonly suggested application for this type of panel. In our case the Aliner roof is a composite sandwich of a thin plastic outer panel with a styrofoam core and thin plywood inner panel. The outer panel and styrofoam are apparently low temperature plastics and the heat absorbed by the solar panels on a hot summer day was sufficient to discolor and deform the roof material. We learned that the panels should be mounted to materials are tolerant of high heat and that can help remove the panel heat, or they should be mounted to allow airflow under the panels.

Very thin and flexible. Much thinner than my previous panels. Also very lightweight. Works as advertised.

I PURCHASED, 5 DOKIO SOLAR PANELS, 100W 12V, IN SEPTEMBER 2017. GREAT SOLAR OUTPUT. ON A FALL SUNNY DAY, I AM GETTING 21.1V ON EACH PANEL (105.5 V, PANELS CONNECTED IN SERIES).
LATER THIS YEAR I HAD A PROBLEM COVERED UNDER 5 YEARS MANUFACTURER WARRANTY. DOKIO REPLACED THE 5 PANELS IN LESS THAN 30 DAYS (FREE OF CHARGE). THE NEW PANELS SHOWS MANUFACTURING IMPROVEMENTS AND HIGHER QUALITY.
EFFECTIVE, RESPONSIVE, HIGH STANDARD CUSTOMER SUPPORT !!!
BEST VALUE FOR THE MONEY !!!

if you are handy you would do well to build some kind of frame or reinforcing structure for it. The cells are easily damaged by flexing. A well thought out frame wouldn’t compromise the light weight too much, It will be lighter than the bulkier ones that are designed for permanent installations. This one didn’t last a year and wasn’t subjected to much use. Powerful output while it lasted. Back to the drawing board for me.

For my first solar panel I am extremely happy. It is sitting lengthwise on my truck camper shell, and there is room for another to be installed on the passenger side. It was charging at around 12v, and it has fully charged my truck battery and the extra battery we install specifically for it. I haven’t had any problems with it since we installed it last month. in the camper shell does have ridges on the top, so there is airflow getting underneath the solar panel. I will update this review come summertime. Because the temperatures here can reach 114.

This works well with my lifpo battery set up. Charges fast. Because it is light you need to make sure it is mounted safely from wind effects. Also it gets very hot in the sun and can heat up the subpanel it might be mounted on. A little stand off between it and the subpanel will dissipate heat especially on a trailer roof.

FIreDanger!!! Do not purchase these panels. One week after we installed them, they caught our roof on fire. Amazon removed them from their site, but they have now reappeared. There was another customer in the old reviews that had a hole burnt in his camper roof. When Dokio realists the panels, the old reviews disappear. I contacted Dokio and they would take no responsibly for the fire. They tried to give me $300 to remove my bad review. They are going to kill someone with these panels. Do Not Purchase!!!!

It was great until the last couple of days. Looks like I missed my return window. It performs like a 50 or 60 watt panel currently, with an actual rate of 33w rather than the 56 I was previously getting in full sun. My setup hasn’t changed at all. I thought maybe this was happening because it was dusty. Cleaning it didn’t help at all.
I guess it still works but 2 stars is too generous. Obviously this isn’t what I paid for.

Failed and cracking after 1 year. The plastic on this panel yellows and is *NOT* UV resistant, inhibiting the panel from collecting even a fraction of how much it should be. What a waste of money. I’ll update if they warranty it.
