Had 2 different units failures, one after 2 months and the other after 4 months.
Nice design, very poor quality.
Now have useless remote display as I will find a better brand.

Renogy 1000Watt 12V DC to 120V AC Pure Sine Wave Inverter Charger
Eleven months of ownership, The unit worked for couple of months and then stopped charging the battery and powering the load using AC power.. The Renogy customer service is very nice but they do not deliver on their promises. First after explaining all the problems I have and following all the troubleshooting steps for 2 hours, I was told someone will send an email with instructions what to do. Two weeks later after no email has been received, I went through the same 2 hour process and was told that someone will call me with instructions. Couple of days later I received an email saying:
“Because we cannot find the tracking number you provided, we cannot refund you. We suggest that you return this product to Amazon, and Amazon will refund the money to you directly. If you still need this product, you can choose to buy a new one.”
Well that is very nice, however the Amazon 30 days return period is long expired and it becomes catch 22. Moreover the price I paid a year ago is 200 dollars lower than todays price. I wouldn’t buy a Renogy product again, just because their customer service.

Simply put:
– The inverter charger can connect to battery and is able to power itself and appliances from battery power
– The device states it can connect to shore power, but does not (I believe it is faulty) and therefore shorepower does not power the appliance or recharge the battery
I’ve contacted customer support on their website and have spoken to at least 4 people, who state that they will have my device tested for defects. It’s been a matter of weeks and no response or support on how I can send me device in and get it tested. They were responsive from the US side, but since ‘transferring’ support to the Canadian side, the support has been non existent. I can understand if due to COVID, there may be delays, but a heads up would be appreciated. I hope I don’t get a response from them after the warranty expires, and then they say they cannot do anything for me.
All in all, product is too expensive if it is faulty, and you at this time, you are unlikely to get customer support. Don’t buy.
If things change, I may update my review.

The unit allows everything in my travel trailer to run off the batteries including the ac. The problem is it blows fuses when I try to run the ac on shore power. I can only use the air conditioner on batteries for as long as the batteries last. Tech support also confirms that if the unit malfunctions or if something happens to the batteries (like being stolen or lost) you would not get any power from shore for anything! Another reviewer pointed out the unit is limited to 24 amps. Seems to me a simple, much cheaper 2000 or 3000 watt inverter would come with a lot less luggage.

This unit was installed and was amazing for 7 months. Their support team defaults to having you shipped the heavy object to them, then they might replace it. Being a unit designed for an RV, this thing is the heartbeat of an RV. In the middle of FL, at 11:30pm I had to rip this thing out and re-wire my RV using a headlamp. I will most likely end up having to ship them this for them to test and most likely blame the user. This mistake will cost me $900, please go with something else.

Bendiciones!

First off, the instructions are kind of weak. I figured it out but as another reviewer stated, the front plate has a design flaw that makes it difficult to close the plate after wiring because of minimal clearance. If you need tech support, forget it!! The first time I called, I got a tech who knew less about the item than I did! When I asked to speak to another tech, I got put on hold for about 10 minutes before getting a “Renogy is having technical difficulties currently, please callback later” message. What?!! I tried calling back the next few days and got that same message! If you are not comfortable with zero tech support, do not buy from Renogy!

A very heavy, sophisticated and versatile unit. After I installed it in my RV, it functioned for approximately 60 days as the RV stood parked in my driveway (without actually taking the rig on any camping trips).
It has quit charging the batteries, and sounds a continuous alarm, although the inverter capability has not been affected.
A 30-day warranty is not adequate for a device of this type, when a typical RV is used only on an occasional basis. Unless the Renogy folks can remedy this problem without forcing me to purchase another unit, I will be sorry I bought this inverter. (Possibly they will yet help me diagnose the problem over the phone.)

After much research, debating, forum trolling and amazon studying, I opted for the Renogy 1000W pure sine inverter based on a few reasons:
1) Pure Sign Wave inverter: Powering a macbook pro and various electronics and expensive LiPo batteries in my van conversion, I wanted to make sure I had clean, household-quality power to ensure the safety of our equipment.
2) Integrated 4 stage charger: Powered by two Trojan T-105 6v batteries, the integrated charger meant 1 less component to install, plus the inverter/charging systems would work in sync vs. and independent unit
3) Remote monitoring panel: Renogy offers a super slick remote monitoring panel that gives you all of your battery level and power consumption data in a single source.

Great price and specs. Nice LED display. Easy to program and works flawlessly so far (after 2 months). Deducted one star for the following reasons: 1) Be aware the length & width is misstated. The measurements only include the upper metal case. The length is actually an inch longer when you include the 1″ long cable-securing grommets, and the width is actually 1-1/2″ wider when you include the mounting feet., and; 2) the access door for the wiring is wonky and very difficult to close once wiring is attached through it. Plus, if the ac or dc overloads are ever tripped, the only way to access the reset buttons behind this hard to access door.

So I bought the 3000 Watt Inverter/Charger from Renogy in October 2019 for $899 on Amazon. We had a professional install it. A month or so passed and then the power cut off while connected to ShorePower – red blinking light on Inverter Switch. I reset the Inverter and nothing else seems the matter. Another month went by and then the power cut out again when connected to ShorePower. This time I was paying a little more attention and noticed we had 3 heated appliances running at once: toaster oven, microwave and electric fireplace? Thinking this should not be a problem since we are plugged into 50 amp ShorePower and we have a 50 amp coach, but it was a problem. After calling Renogy support and being on hold for 25 mins, the tech told me that the limitation of the Inverter/Charger is 24 amp (3000 watt / 125 VAC) even when connected to 50 amp ShorePower. This means my whole coach can only draw no more than 24 amps even when plugged into 50 amp service. He quickly transferred me to Customer Service which said I was past my 30 day return windows and should just try to sell on eBay ~ thanks for that Renogy! There goes $900 down the drain!
My gripe with Renogy is not with their product. It is actual in their Amazon listing. It doesn’t state this limitation anywhere as of 1-28-2020! Maybe I should just know this information but I would think this should be mentioned to the would be buyer, right?
Buyers lookout for what they are not telling you.
