I had to drill quarter inch holes in the panels frame since the factory slots were too big for the washers that came with the brackets. Suggest getting 4ea 1/4 x 1/2 washers if you are using a Coleman panel.

Only reason I did not give 5 stars is the fact that the 2 mounting holes are 3 1/4″ apart. People like me have galvalume on their roofs. The furring strips that the galvalume is secured to is 3 1/2″ wide. That leaves only an eighth of an inch on either side of the mounting screws to secure them to the furring strips. So, the only way I could use these mounting brackets was to drill another hole between the 2 existing holes in order to be sure each of the 2 mounting screws was well anchored in the furring strips below.

I liked that I could attach these to the sides of my solar panel and then simply screw them down to the roof. They keep the panel high enough that I could mount to metal roofing and clear the ridges. I have yet to use a solar panel where I could use the long screws this comes with to attach to the bracket to the panel (hence 4 stars) – I used some small, short sheet metal screws I already had.

I purchased a 180 watt solar cell for my RV. The 4 factory z-brackets were light weight and did not inspire confidence. These brackets are heavier and have 2 mounting holes per bracket foot for more secure installation to the roof. In addition the panel has mounting holes for 6 brackets so with this one upgrade my installation will be much improved.
