I’m not one to usually buy wire pre-made, I usually build my own. This wire is great quality and the connectors are top-notch. I did buy it to add my own extensions, and I can safely say that the quality of wire they give you is hard to find. Very flexible, weather friendly, UV friendly, it is great quality. If you want to save yourself soldering and heat shrinking, as well as bending exterior quality wire around, this is the right stuff. Next time I do it, I’ll buy this even with the excessive price-per-foot vs a DIY solution. It is nice wire to work with.

I attached these to the my panel. Then added some 2 terminal quick disconnects to the ends of the bare wire. I put the other quick disconnect on my charge controller. This way I don’t have to screw the wire in which is a pain. Make sure you use 10 gauge wire throughout. But if you’re only using 1 12v battery, you could get away with 12 or 14 gauge.

I wanted and ordered the Renogy 10Ft 10 AWG Solar Panel and Controller Connector Adaptor Wire MC4 Extension Cables……. But got the Renogy 30 30A MC4 Waterproof in-Line Holder w/Fuse, Black. WTH is going on???

I purchased the 10 AWG cables expecting them to fit in 12-10 AWG crimp terminals.
The cross sectional area of 10 AWG wire is typically 5 or maybe 5.25mm squared. This wire is bigger. As it says on the package it came in it is 6 mm squared. Now normally I wouldn’t complain about getting a more robust product but they don’t fit into my Ancor 12-10 AWG crimp terminals. Both the wire and the insulation were too big.
I worked with it but it was a hassle.
Other than that it looks like a very good product.
ps: on further looking I see that it does show in the technical data that it is 6mm. But I still would have thought it would fit in 10 AWG Ancor terminals.

These work great to extend from the solar panel to the charge controller. However, it would maybe be nice if they were different colors. Don’t forget these are 10AWG and will not fit into a smaller charge controller and he will need to cut the cable down, make it smaller, and loose some wiring, and conductivity, to get this gauge wire to fit the smaller 20 amp controllers.

I have actually bought four sets of these, now. They work flawlessly! They give me just enough extension to mount my panels in the configuration I needed. They are heavy duty, and they’re doing the job quite well!

Well the cables are aluminum so its pretty thick to get the current flow. Great quality and well marked but they dont match my Renogy Solar power panel. The male is marked positive and the cables I got the male is also positive. So I needed a positive female connector not the male I got. Of course I just reversed them at the controller ignoring the red positive marking but not very well thought out I might add. Hmmm

Had to troubleshoot and find the bad connection (male mc4 connector on cable.) Probably wasted 2 hours of my time with taking panels off roof and troubleshooting every connection with a multimeter. I was able to fix the connector but I like/expect my pre made cables to work first time.
I still buy Renogy but test everything on the ground before installing.
