I needed to pierce the roof of my travel trailer for installing solar panels. This is just the ticket…the two cable entries screw down tight over the cables. I used heavy-duty adhesive applied from a caulking gun, fastened the unit down with a screw on each side and then covered the edges with white leveling compound. I am confident that this will keep water out and purchased a second unit for running the cable from my roof-mounted cellular booster. While everything seems very tight and waterproof, I suggest pointing the cable entries away from the direction of travel so that water doesn’t get blown into them.

These were delivered when promised, all parts were included, they’re very sturdy and was very straightforward to install. Took away 1 star due to 1) cables provided from controller to the batteries could have been longer. Couldn’t hang the controller in the most optimum place. Another 4 feet would help. 2) the documentation for the controller could be more descriptive for the error codes. Just gives you a one-liner as to what it is but not what it actually means or what to do to correct. All in all, once installed it’s working perfectly.

this is very well made, and I would have given it 5 stars but, it should have come with as gasket, I know I will have to chalk it, but you think that if you have to drill holes in a roof or somewhere else that a gasket would be a great help. I am happy with the product and would recommed it to anyone who needs one, good value, well made.

Just one of those things that we had to purchase in order to complete the install of 2 solar panels on our roof rack of our sprinter van. Worked perfectly and we are ready for some off grid adventures! Photos on our insta @vantrailsbeer

There was flashing left over from the molding process that needed to be removed from where the wires pass through (inside the hole that seals when compressed by the gland/nut). Not a big deal but since the inside of the hole was then a bit rough, I added RTV around the outside to ensure a good, watertight seal. I ordered this by mistake as I would rather have one with a flange for mounting screws but time was tight, so I drilled a hole in the center and used a 2-1/2″ machine screw and well nut set into my van’s fiberglass hightop, plus RTV under the housing.

The first one I got was damaged. The second one arrived in good shape but needed screws to attach it. It did not have any adhesive on the bottom. Buy something different that can be screwed down before installing the solar cable.

I bought one last year and it had 3/8″ flange on all sides allowing screws to help hold it down while the silicon adhesive cured. This one has flanges so small I barely could use screws to do the same as the prior install. I don’t recommend this one do to that issue.

Comes with no instructions and no adhesive, so you’re left to guess at the best way to mount it. I used screws and adhesive, with sealant around the edge and it seems to hold well. But the cable entry holes also don’t work so great. I had some water running down through the cables, so I had to put sealant around the cables going through the port as well. Wouldn’t recommend
