I have an off-grid shed where I wanted to install a security camera, so I bought this 10W solar panel (with controller), a 12V 9AH battery, 12V to 5V USB converters, LED lights, switches, and the security camera. It’s great to have lights, rather than carrying a flashlight. Having the security camera lets me see what’s happening remotely. I love it!

The only problem I have is unrelated to this product. It seems that the converters have a narrow operating range. When the battery voltage drops to 11.5V the converters shut off. Once the solar panel has charged back to 12V, the camera should work again…but needs manual intervention. I’ve not yet determined whether the camera or the converter has to be unplugged to reset the next day. I don’t know whether the controller can be adjusted internally to over-charge the battery 1/2 a volt more to let the camera work longer.

Trickle charging marine battery, connect leads, stand in sun and job done!

I have this thing running for two days of sunlight and a good clean healthy battery at 70% charge has not reached 100% . i tried it on another new battery at 80% charge and after 6 hours i have only 90% on a full sunny day.
Also if you look at the pictures its not at all weather , water or bees proof. it has holes on all four sides of front side of its corners. I think i got a bad unit shipped since others have given it 4 and 5 star reviews. i have plenty other solar panels i installed and use but this one is no good in any way. i wanted to give it zero stars because i am very displeased with it not working as it should and holes that makes it not weather or water proof . Will look somewhere else for same thing.

If all components worked as designed, this would be a really nice product. Panel works very well. Panel is well constructed. Nice aluminum frame. Included mounting hardware is fair-to-good quality. I’ll add actual watt output of the panel at a later date. Unfortunately, the charge controller arrived defective. In direct sun the panel output was ~20volts (as expected), but through the charge controller I could never get more than 7-8 volts. That’s not going to do much good trying to charge 12v batteries. The wire included is 20 gauge or thinner and not consistent from panel-to-controller-to-battery-to-load. I would have preferred at least 18 gauge wire end-2-end. All of the instructions, hardware, components would’ve made a real nice set-up if everything worked and the wire gauge was consistent. I provided direct feedback to the seller. We’ll see how they respond. I will update accordingly.

If you need bits and pieces, buy this. Otherwise avoid
The wires have no connectors, so may be you need crimping set etc to connect the parts.
Thought that I can connect the wires and install , but nope, had to buy more parts to setup.
Haven’t used, so not rating the product.
    May return back

Note: The stand was flimsy. wires are thin 18Awg.

Seems to do the job so far, just keeps my starter battery on boat topped up, Will see how it performs over winter with less sunlight

After 9 months this panel is only putting out 11v versus the rated 19+ in bright, unobstructed sunshine. Yep – 9 months. Tried to reach out to the seller, no response.
Since it isn’t charging the battery properly I’ll spend my money to replace it.
I suggest you look at alternative products.

Just what I was looking for. I installed in my shed, on a rainy, cloud-covered day and the panel still produced 20.5 vdc to the controller. I attached it to a 12v 7ah SLA battery and the LED (load) lights shined brightly. It doesn’t come with instructions, but consumers who have never toyed with electricity could install this with no problems; just read the instructions on the item’s page. Now to see how well & long this off-grid system really works.

I’m REALLY thinking I might need something like the 20w version to have on-hand for the unexpected. One never knows.

I bought this solar panel to keep my generator battery topped off. I wish the indicator lights on the controller were easier to see, and the meaning of the different blinking patterns should be printed on the controller (I printed that page from the user manual and taped it beside the controller). People who complained about the lack of instructions obviously missed that the user manual and installation instructions could be downloaded from the Amazon product listing. Both downloads were helpful and adequate. Perhaps there could be a note in the package with the URL for those downloads.

Installation was pretty easy, but be aware that the corners of the panel are sharp. If you have it in a location like I do, and you aren’t careful, you can walk into it and slice open your arm or head. I scratched my shoulder good from doing this. Might stick some baby-proofing rubber corners on there, but that’s just me.

I ran some UF wire from the panel underground to my generator shed. I wish the wires from the controller were longer, but overall, it was easy to install and my battery is blinking green (full) so I’m happy. Being able to easily mount the panel on a wood fence is worth the cost of the bracket.

pretty decent. keeps my John Deere battery ready to cut some mf’n grass.

Quality seems good. I used this 10watt solar panel with it’s included charge controller to maintain and charge my 12v 7Ah SLA battery while operating my Yaesu FT-818 QRP amateur radio in portable operation mode in the middle of nowhere. Radio was perfectly capable of putting out its full 5-6 watts for many hours operating in the Sun. Added Anderson Power Poles to the wire terminals for ease of connectivity. As others said, no instructions, but if you’re technical and electronic savvy you should have no problem making the proper connections. To be honest, “instructions” are written on the bronze chassis of the charge controller. For those staying they don’t know what PV stands for on the chassis, it’s “photovoltaic” which is another name for solar panel.

    very good
