It’s amazing to see a coin from each century! You are literally holding a coin from 1-99 AD! Who knows who else held that coin throughout history! I love it? Anyone that likes history will love it too!

When my six year old had her first loose tooth, we discussed who the tooth fairy is and that she could expect a coin or maybe a bill for each tooth. At first I laughed off her suggestion that maybe the tooth fairy would give her “ancient coins!” But then I thought about it and said, “Hey, what a great idea! That could be very educational, something special she can have her whole life, and still be exciting to receive even after she figures the whole tooth fairy thing out.” I did a bit of searching and found this. It is perfect. Kids, coincidentally, have 20 baby teeth – the same number of coins in this set. It is a bit pricey, but then I know many parents these days that give fives, tens, or even twenties for a tooth. And this is worth so much more in a kid’s life than spending 10 bucks on sweets which will only rot their new teeth faster. So, when my daughter lost her first tooth, the fairy brought her the well-made case, empty except for one coin. She now has collected four and is close to a fifth. She gets really in to it and asks me to look up the coins on the internet and to read to her about the places and times the coins come from. And their value is low enough that I feel just fine letting her store the case on her dresser and take them out and hold them when she wants. She’s also learning responsibility for things of value. She washes her hands before handling them. She keeps it out of reach of her little brother. She’s careful about not mixing the numbered cases and coins up. She counts the spaces to make sure the coins are in their correct spot and is learning to multiply (or skip count as they call it in her school) by 100 and then translate that in to centuries. The coins are truly vintage, but they are not in fantastic condition and they are coins that are available in high numbers on the market. That is why this is as cheap as it is. If you are hoping to buy something as a financial investment, this is not a good choice. If you just want to hold some history in your hand or you are an assistant of the tooth fairy like me, then this is a great set. I am very satisfied! APMEX, I don’t know how many of these you stock, but you should consider marketing it for this specific purpose. It is almost tailor-made for it.
