I change my camera battery every six months for recharging. That’s not bad, but this solar panel is fantastic for maintaining a charge without removing the battery. The solar panel looks nice with a crystal look and a powder coated frame. All of the necessary wiring and hardware is included with instructions. It’s an energy saving device. Power rating is 5 watts and out-put is 5 volts.

The Renogy 5-Watt MonoCrystalline Solar Panel Charger for Ring Camera is really a blessing. I was hating having to climb up the ladder to change out the batteries all the time to recharge them. We installed the Solar Panel in late afternoon and the battery level was at 54 and this morning it was at 79 with very little charge time. So it is working well. You really do not have to take the back panel off the camera, just use a small flat blade screw driver and wedge it in to pop out the plug on the back to insert and attach the cable to the Solar Panel. I found since the camera had been out in the weather for over a year i was unable to get the back panel off , and this made it much easier to connect it.

Renogy Solar Panel Charger for Ring Camera
This is a compact solar panel for Ring security cameras. It has a sturdy mounting bracket and an adjustable pivot where the solar panel connects to allow you to point the panel in the appropriate direction and lock it in place. The cord is about 6 feet long, so you must mount the panel within that distance from the camera. There are no cord tie-downs provided, so I will have to get something to keep the cord from blowing in the wind.
I got this to use with a Ring Stick-Up camera. It does NOT work with the Ring Stick-Up camera. While it looks like it should fit, the plug on the cord from the solar panel is too large to fit in the hole of the Ring Stick-Up camera. I had the solar panel all mounted and everything before I realized it did not plug in to the camera where I wanted it. That was very disappointing, because I had not read that it would not work with that model of Ring security camera.
However, it DOES work with my Ring Spot Light camera. After moving the solar panel to a new location to use with my other Ring camera, I connected it easily. At about 10 a.m. on a cloudy morning after the installation, the camera was at 45% battery. The sun came out about noon, and by evening, the camera was at 87% charge. I checked the camera the following day, and it was at 100% charge. Clearly it works GREAT with Ring spotlight camera, and looks like it will easily keep the charge on that camera.
So other than the fact that I was not able to use the solar panel with the Ring Stick-up camera, I’m overall pretty happy with the way it works with my Ring spotlight camera.

I have my RING camera in a location that does not get a lot of sun. I was skeptical if it would get enough sunlight to help maintain the batteries, well I was pleasantly surprised that it does, it takes a few days for it to full charge but that’s completely due to the shaded area it is located in. It is built heavy duty as I own several Renogy items and have never been disappointed in their products.
