Blink Mini – Compact indoor plug-in smart security camera 1080 HD

Purchased this item to try to keep an eye on the home while away and make sure my animals arent being nuts. Set up was pretty straight forward ( only issue I had was getting the WiFi password correct ) once connected picture quality is good , camera is responsive once you set up your trigger zones. The app itself could use a little work ( setting up schedules and other camera options arent very intuitive )
But otherwise the camera and functions seem to work very well

The Blink Mini camera is VERY easy to setup and has motion detection that can be adjusted for sensitivity. It is also able to set area of detection in field of view! I installed 3 of these inside my house and at any given time they will alert me if there is motion in the house when they are armed (through the blink app). They have easily integrated with my Alexa show 5 and also my Echo dots, (3rd gen) with announcement of motion detection. I can even tell Alexa to view them on my Echo Show 5 with no problems! Not to mention that if I use Alexa to make an announcement (through all Alexa enabled devices) it will use the speaker on these cameras to make that announcement. For ANYONE who has issues with installing, linking to Alexa, or seeing up through the app, They might want to get a techie friend to help them because these were a BREEZE to get up and running! I don’t write reviews that often. But for this product I had to! Also, just another note, you don’t HAVE to subscribe for monitoring service. You can use them as they are through the app. It ONLY costs you if you decide you want to have cloud storage and longer recordings of motion than 10 seconds. Yes, as others have stated, they record a short video and then it takes another 10 seconds to trigger another short video. But what do people expect for free? Plus, the cloud/monitoring service isn’t THAT expensive. Actually, for what you get, it is cheaper than an alarm monitoring company monthly payment! Another point, the speaker is a tad bit on the quiet side. But, it is still loud enough for someone to hear and understand what is being said. To anyone having issues with disconnection from WiFi, or lagging, GET HIGHER BANDWIDTH AND A GOOD WiFi ROUTER! WiFi systems that are 5 years old are not going to work as well as the newer ones! The only thing I have an issue with on these cameras is the fact that they are only able to use 2.4 Ghz and not 5.8 Ghz. But, if they were compatible with the 5.8 Ghz frequency, they would require a LOT MORE bandwidth to use.
