May 10 2021 Update: After connecting my batteries per the instructions the inverter it blew up. To be more accurate some component inside it blew up along with the rush of confidence I briefly had when I got the batteries to charge off the solar panels. This kit has convinced me that I have zero business messing around with solar electricity. I was hoping this would be my entry point into learning about solar but for the reasons I cite below I can not recommend this kit for that. Though it might be a great kit for an electrician or at least someone far more familiar with electrical work that I am, who doesn’t mind working with kits that don’t include all the required parts, for the rest of you, keep looking.

I have a hard time believing all these glowing reviews talking about how super easy it is. IT. IS. NOT! The kit doesn’t even include all the parts you need. Unless you know what you are doing and don’t mind running around buying the stuff that the manual tells you is needed (but not in the kit) then click and enjoy. If you have never assembled a solar system before AVOID THIS PRODUCT. I am determined to figure it out and will get it working but it’s going to require I great deal more research, more frustration, more scrap materials, and more purchases to accomplish. Updated from 1 star to 3 stars because the materials themselves seemed of good quality. While one star communicated my disappointment with the absent kit materials and need to go buy the rest of what I thought I already purchased the materials they did send seem to be good quality.

I have to say, I’m impressed. My reason for purchasing this system, was to provide lighting, and power for a small tv and DVD player, during our more than frequent power outages. A typical overnight use for us is about 25 to 30 amp-hours. In one sunny day, I recovered 26 amp-hours of battery energy. On a cloudy day, about 15.
We have a generator for big loads, but this system is capable of any small load. I’m happy with it, and I plan on adding batteries, and three more 200 watt panel this year.
I had to build a rack on my own, so a simple design for a solar rack would be helpful to some, especially who don’t know which end of a screwdriver to use.

Need to add power at the back of my property where the Barn is, look around at the reviews and decided the 3 panel/3 battery version should work for my application. 1/4HP jet pump, lights/fan, and power tools – no issues, except I wish I had done the sooner!
