Use the remote to easily disarm the alarm before entering your home and to select alarm or chime mode. The unique security code between the remote and the alarm provides additional security and convenience – no need to remember another code. Additional remotes can be purchased. This is perfect for an apartment, dorm room or a homeowner not wanting to install a full system. Easy to follow instructions included. You will need 3 aaa batteries, but the battery for the remote is included. The installation is quick and the chime feature when alarm is not in use is a good feature. Range is ample, and you need to pay attention to height, etc.

For a quick security addition, you can’t go wrong with this $20 purchase. The alarm is very loud. You get one remote and that remote is used to pair to the motion sensor. Once armed, you have 45 seconds to leave the area. If you return to the area without disarming, you will get a warning beep. After the warning beep, the next movement triggers the alarm. This sounds for 30 seconds, and can be disarmed using the remote.

Everyone is concerned about security. I have security lights but wanted an alarm if someone entered my downstairs area. You put the sender in the area you want protected and you can permanently mount it or just stand it up on a shelf or move it to other areas. When motion is detected the alarm unit will sound a short tone and a red light will flash. The alarm will activate in 30 seconds and only then the siren or chime will got off. I think the alarm should go off immediately and not give the intruder a warning. The alarm works well and can be disarmed and armed with the included remote control which includes the battery for that part. For the sender you need 3 AA batteries not included. The chime is loud but the siren is ear piercingly loud.

The instructions are not very well written, after installing the batteries and replacing the cover and screw as instructed they then say remove battery cover to access the “learn” button! Anyhow, I set the battery powered motion detecting alarm near a door in the basement. The accompanying video shows the alarm being tested in all modes, chime, alarm and instant alarm. Everything is controlled from the remote which has a handy key chain.
In use the alarm is pretty loud and certainly alerts everyone in the house that it has triggered. The chime function is not as persistent as the alarm and is more suitable to use when in the same room and you still want to know if the door has opened. The instant alarm mode is activated by pushing two buttons on the remote at the same time and triggers the same 120 dB alarm.
This is a particularly good buy for anyone wanting a cheap alarm that can be used without major infrastructure changes as full alarm systems often demand. It is so small and light that it could be used as a portable alarm too being set up in moments in other environments.

  8. Customer

I need to replace the unit every 2 years. I’ve had 4 so far. Very reliable when activated. But the remote control is also UNreliable.

  9. HomeDepotCustomer

it’s not an alarm. More like a doorbell.
