Q: will the signal travel through metal such as a metal mailbox? i want to put it inside my mailbox to detect when I get Mail.

My mail box is 70 feet from my house. I put the receiver near a window facing the mail box. IT DOES NOT WORK. It will work outside of the mail box. I am sending it back to Amazon.

Great price and great quality so far. However they go off for just a tree barely moving and or the wind blowing too hard and something moving or falling like a leaf I have four of them set up around my home for if people were to walk onto our property to be notified and we get a lot of false alarms

One cat pees on our bed and other soft places due to trauma from before she was rescued. The other cat loves to put his claws in things like curtains.
As long as we keep them out of the two rooms theres no issues. Got these alarms and put in doorways. I had to put white tape on the season part to the left and right in order to change the width of the area it covers so the alarm doesnt go off when walking near the door.
Now we just step over the beam area when entering and exiting our rooms so we dont trigger the alarm. Our cats are learning they sst it off when trying to sneak in and they look around like, Busted!.
At first we had to tell them, No. Now they’re catching on and turning around leaving the room on their own. But cats are cats so sometimes they still try to see if we’re looking before they leave. I know if no one is they’d try to go in anyway. But it’s a new thing so just gotta keep repeating this until they just give up altogether.
We’re super happy we catch them everytime now. So no more worrying about them destroying our rooms.

I’m very happy with this sensor as I have been using it since discovering my teen likes to sneak out at night. It is discreet enough that he hasn’t even noticed it and doesn’t realize how I can hear him. I live in a large split level house and it works through the walls so I can be in my bedroom at one end of the house on an upper level and it will transmit to the lower level on the opposite end of the house. The receiver I have plugged into a micro usb cord and the two transmitters are battery operated, so I can adjust as needed.

It is a very good unit. Too bad the user manual is very skimpy. One would have a hard time figuring out the functions. After playing with it for an hour, here is what I found
HOW TO SELECT MUSIC FROM 62 SLECTIONS
Press second button (with music icon) once.
Each time you press, the next selection will play.
When you like the selection, long press the bottom button (with sound icon) once.
Move your hand over the sensor. It will sound once.
Short press the lower button once. It will sound once or four times.
Now the music is set.
To change music tone, repeat steps.
TURN OFF THE RECEIVER AFTER YOU SET THE MUSIC
Long press the top button , it will sound once.
Long press the top button again, it will sound four times.
Now it is off.
TURN ON THE RECEIVER AGAIN
Long press the top button,. it will sound once.
move your hand over sensor. The receiver will sound twice.
Short press the top button once. Now the unit is on and will play the music selection you have set the last time.
TOGGLE BETWEEN ALARM AND MUSIC
When the music is playing, short press the top button once. The alarm will sound.
Turn toggle back to music, when the alarm sound is on, short press the second button once, and short press the top button once. Now it is back to the preset music sound.

When working with family member with dementia, safety is #1 concern. Flexible setup of this product makes it easy for placement of detectors and the alarm unit. I placed one sensor next to mom’s bed and another sensor by her sink, then I put the alert alarm in my room so when the alarm is ringing, I can attend to my dementia parent.
I use this everyday for a few months already and it worked flawlessly. The motion sensor units and alarm base are best with rechargeable AA batteries. One charge lasted me at least a couple months 🙂
This product is a lifesaver for me because I can rest without worrying my dementia parent from getting in trouble while getting up at night by herself.

Good motion sensors and receiver with many ringtones. The video shows each ringtone for a few seconds. I bought 2 sets and they have good range. You can set each sensor to a unique ring so you know which one was tripped. I have two sensors in my detached garage outside the house and the signal reaches the receiver all the way in my bedroom through many walls so I will know if someone is sneaking around my garage while I’m sleeping.

This driveway alarm is reliable, consistent, small, light, cheap, and expandable. The only things I don’t like about it is the red light that flashes briefly when movement is detected and the poorly-written instruction manual. I like it so much I bought seven more sensors. Some are used to protect my car from repeated vandalism; others are mounted on the ground at night around duck nest sites to detect when raccoons and other predators are approaching.
One important note they should include in the instruction manual is that once all the sensors are paired, and you want to reassign unique melodies to each, you’ll have to unpair all sensors first. Otherwise, the instructions seem to work.
