Outta Control –
I am a bit of a safety freak. I have a full home alarm system but I do not set it at night because I am always setting it off when I am home. When I leave the house, it gets set.
I have a second system that is just motion sensors on the first floor that I set at night. All of the bedrooms are on the second floor and if someone did manage to get past my security cameras and warnings, I want motion sensors to let me know.
I had a previous motion sensor system for years and it started acting up. The sensor near the back door stopped working and about once a month, the siren would go off for no reason. In the trash it went.
This brand seemed to be what I was looking for but did not quite turn out to be what they advertise. The pitch said it works with Alexa. That is pretty much untrue. I wanted to be able to tell Alexa to disable the motion sensors when I come downstairs. So far, I cannot find a way to do that. The Alexa app recognized the devices but isn’t able to control them. The instructions that come with the hub and sensors are not very thorough. You have to either go into the app and disable each sensor or you have to manually flip the switch on the siren to off. I wanted something much more automated.
I like that the motion sensors are fairly small and do not stand out. The hub is also small and is easy to tuck out of the way. I have it hidden with all the tv components as I have a battery back up on the system and I have an available Ethernet port in the same spot.
The only thing I can get Alexa to do is turn off the siren if it is going off but I have to yell at the top of my voice before she can hear me over the siren.
So far, not a great product if you are looking for simple.
I think it may be going back and I will need to spend more money to get something that truly works with Alexa.

I bought this to monitor my mailbox. I wanted to know when my mail was delivered so I wouldn’t have to go out and check to see if the mailman has been by. This motion detector works perfectly for this. I used the supplied magnetic mount to place it inside my locking box facing forward. Now when the mail is delivered I get an alert on my phone almost instantly…within a second or so.
Also, we have had some mail box tampering and mail thefts in our area so hopefully this device with tell me if someone is trying to steal my mail. My mailbox is made of heavy gauge steel and is a bout 70 feet from the hub and the signal is 2 out of 3 bars, so it is coming thru box and over that distance just fine.
Because you get two detectors, I mounted the second one right over my front door facing straight down. This detector tells me if someone is there…a guest or possibly FEDEX or UPS delivering a package to our porch.
It was fairly easy to set up in about 30 minutes. Excellent product and very fast delivery!

The app seems a little bit short on options but the product did work. I gad to wire in the internet since it would not connect/find the wifi.

I love my motion sensor. I applied packing tape to the backside of my sensor to help keep humidity and moisture out because I use the sensor inside my mailbox to alert me to when my mail has arrived. The double-sided sticky tape that came on the mounting plate couldn’t take the 100-degree heat so I used a little super glue to mount plate inside my mailbox and now everything is just perfect. So a couple of easy mods and boom works like a champ. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE. The range is incredible! Tech support actually answers the phone too! CONS: The android app wasn’t as intuitive as I would have liked it to be,…..but once I dialed into it,,…..it became easier to operate.

Exactly what I was looking for, and much smaller than I thought it would be. Setup took less than 10 minutes: Download app, connect hub to power and ethernet, click a single button on the sensor, done. Installation was just as easy, pick a good spot, test it as best you can before making it permanent, and then just peel and stick a magnetic disk for it to attach onto.
Integrates with alexa routines directly or ifttt via skills, and the app has its own setup for making scenes and automations as well. Did not test pairing them with smart life but there was no need, alexa receives the “motion detected” event and the fires scenes or devices from smart life as needed.
Smart devices can vary pretty wildly in quality, but these are just rock solid.
I have no worries about adding some door sensors from these guys next.

Decent product. The devices pair super fast! I also purchased the temp/humidity sensor and it’s fairly accurate when compared to my other sensors.
The motion sensors work well with a big drawback: They don’t report when motion is no longer detected. This could be a problem when using them in a routine.
No problems with Alexa finding the devices once the skill is enabled.
The app needs a bit of work and is very basic.
Customer support is responsive and answered questions I had in an hour or two.
Range hasn’t been extensively tested, but it does need line of sight for longer distances.
Once improvements are made, this will be a solid product.
Update: Recent updates to the app and sensor now allow the reporting of no motion state. I created a routine in the Alexa app to turn lights off when no motion was sensed for ten minutes. Worked perfectly!
