Pop in a couple of batteries and it’s good to go. Easier for me to be able to move the senor around rather than mounting it. That works too.
My small dogs use the living room to do their business rather than going outside. They know to be sneaky but don’t seem to know that never is a good time. Now when I am not in that room I turn the sensor on and it lets me know when one of them is in there so I can catch them. I would never strike and animal, but angry words is all it takes. Now just the alarm going off does the trick.
One thing is the lack of instructions. It is supposed to make 50 different sounds. I haven’t taken the time to figure that part out through trial and error.

this item is cheap, don’t buy it. It’s supposed to come with a cable for programming, but it did not. I am sorry I bought it, but because I couldn’t return though the rack cart, I didn’t try to return this because I thought it would be a useless attempt, I’m giving it away Amazon is not willing to help me, so I’m done with Amazon I’m leaving their platform I’ve already give away all my dots.

I purchased the product to get an alert when the garage door opens or closes. I tried pointing the sensor to various locations and have not been able to get a consistently reaction when the door is opened or closed. It appears to react well to a car driving into the garage or a person walking through the garage. Have had about 5 phantom reactions when the alert has gone off when the garage is empty.

Bought this to use at my school to let us know parents had pulled up to pick up their kids. Had to contact the company because the first one I got was defective would just continually detect motion even in an empty room. The second one was better but way too sensitive… Even the wind and small leaves blowing by set it off and it was of no use to us.

The batteries die very quickly! It’s also go off for any little thing. It’s not water resistant so I will be looking for a better one a waste of $ if you need it for outdoor usage

I placed it in front of the doggy door. This way I’m alerted each time my dog goes outside in the late hours. With coyotes, skunks, giant raccoons, i prefer to bring him back in as soon as he completes his business. Also, this can notify you if your local rodents/critters decide to visit you through the pet door.
I used a velcro to attach it, this way I can place in different areas of my home.
Note: if you do this and have false alerts, it’s probably due to the weakening velcro causing the sensor to move.

We got this motion sensor to prevent others from sneaking up behind us. Our office contains a lot of large displays and the back wall is made up of floor to ceiling windows with a hallway outside. Countless times we would feel people staring into the office or have been startled by someone showing up unexpectedly at 3am. This definitely alleviated the primal anxiety that comes with having your back exposed to the open. I only gave it 4 stars since most of the chimes are way too long. Aside from being able to change the volume and chime, there are some dip switches inside of the sensor that change the detection time and whether or not the blue light turns on when motion is detected. Apparently you can pair more than one sensor to the base unit. The base plugs directly into an outlet and the sensor can be powered by 2 AA batteries or plugged into a usb outlet with a micro usb cable.

Not being aware when someone has entered the office can be a set up for quite a scare! This unit is just what I’ve been looking for. I’ve been using it for a week, and it has been great. I always know when someone has entered the building (provided I’m near the receiver).
The package included batteries for the sensor and everything needed to secure the sensor to the wall, though I simply placed it at the base of an artificial tree. The receiver is plugged into an outlet in my office.
I’ve contacted the manufacturer about getting a second receiver for use in another part of the building. I didn’t spend much time on listening to all the ringtones; there are plenty. The volume setting operates as it should. I recommend this item!
