I wanted to like it. 3-in-one for this price is great deal.
But… it seemed to only detect Motion “Alert” when it first gets power, and not detect Motion afterwards, whether I was 1ft away or 3-5ft away, several minutes later or constantly in front of it. That’s no good.

Everything else on the Tuya’s Smart Life app seemed so great, with the Temperature reading and Humidity showing on it.
Although, I must add, the Min/Max setting for the Temp and Humidity alerts ALWAYS reset back to default every time the device got power, so that wasn’t ideal either.

This product only works with Alexa if you know how to use ITTT. If you do not know what that means then you can only use it for being a sensor and notifications via the app.

  3. Arpi

This product is garbage just goes off without any motion random detections

I really wanted to love this little device. Temperature and humidity functions and alarms all work perfect. It records a continuous history of temperature and humidity which is interesting, as you can look back and see what has happened with temperature or humidity over time – watch your thermostat kick on and off to heat your house for instance. If you wanted too, you could use it to turn on and off a heater using a smart plug and control the temperature just like a thermostat, by setting the alarms 1-2 degrees apart. It integrates perfectly with the Smart Life App. It also has some interesting other alarm functions such as it can broadcast an alarm under battery backup if it looses power or is tampered with. The problem with my device is that the PIR alarm just flat out does not work. I put it in a closed room with no activity and it still goes off every couple minutes for no apparent reason. I do not believe there is even a bug in the house. I can walk into the room and it will not trigger, but I think that is because there is some kind of timeout after triggering. If you catch it between alarms it can see any movement or or change in light from 40-50ft away. I thought about just disabling the PIR alarm in the app and using this for its other features, but when it senses motion it flares up in a red glow. If you have it in the room with any other IR sensor, like a camera or other motion detector, that sets the other cameras off. There is not option to reduce sensitivity of the PIR that I can find using the app. There is not manufacturer contact information in the package, so I will be returning unless he sees the review and contacts me. Maybe I have a bad one but nothing to compare too.

Upon further testing the humidity sensor cannot read above 45%. This is only a Smart LIfe Temp monitor and flawed at that.

Sensor doesn’t work it goes on off every minute or less on average 54 seconds either you have motion or not.

I was looking for a sensor to turn some lights on and off using an Alexa Routine. This is really a great design — it’s got a built in battery but it looks like you can just leave it on a charger , but note that you need to supply your own USB power source. There’s no instructions on how to prepare the unit, so here’s a hint: It unscrews. Simply twist the two parts and they will come apart. You then need to pull the shipping tabs from around the battery. You’ll also find the hidden RESET button in side.

I got the unit connected to SMARTLIFE app easily enough, and it immediately started to send notifications to my phone. Good so far. It has a “tamper” alarm that goes off if it’s moved as well as temperature and humidity. I turned those all off since I don’t need them. I wanted to turn on the lights in my bathroom when I walk in, and for my purposes the range seemed good, with no falsing. If you wanted to use this as a motion alarm or to control other Smartlife devices this would probably work fine.

The first problem comes when trying to connect to Alexa. I did DISCOVERY and Alexa found it, but then showed “there’s a problem” as the status. I was able to add it to an Alexa routine, but it was unable to send any motion events to Alexa, so the routine never triggered.

The second problem came when I tried to get support. The listing states “If you have any questions about the home security sensor alarm system, please feel free to contact us, we will reply you within 24 hours and do our best to achieve 100% in customer satisfaction.” The problem is there’s no indication of how to do this. There’s no place to get technical support in the documentation for the product. I left a message for the seller. I contacted AMAZON support, who basically said to try everything again (I did, it still didn’t trigger Alexa).

Obviously, neither of these make it a very effective purchase so it’s being returned.

    Pros:
    – the step up went smoothly with SMARTLIFE
    – Does not require a hub
    – Two VERY large batteries for a long lifetime
    – You can keep it plugged in
    – Tamper, Temperature and Humidity alarms

    Cons:
    – Alexa integration does not work
    – A USB Power source is not included
    – A little pricey

Recommendation: I would not recommend this if you are looking for Alexa integration, if you just want to operate it through Smart Life, you should give it a try.

Notes to Manufacturer to make this a better product:
    1. Include instructions on how to open the unit and pull the battery tabs and show a picture of the reset button
    2. Provide a URL or email for customer support in the documentation
    3. Either fix the Alexa integration or remove it from the listing
    4. Note that a USB power source is not included in the listing

Does not work with Alexa Routines. Shows up and can be added to a routine but never triggers. Might work great for security purposes but not for smart home integration. The “works with alexa” description is inaccurate.
